Since it has been about a month since I started this blog I figured it was time to actually talk about my job at Walt Disney World. I have a college internship which means I am staying for a semester, if I don't extend and stay longer. It also means I am making minimum wage which is currently 6.79 in Florida. It should go up in January, but I am still taking a pay cut. My housing is kind of like college housing. I will be living with 3- 5 other girls and one I will share a room with one of them. Luckily Disney lets you pick your room room mate ahead of time because I met someone that is actually bringing their sewing machine down so I am rooming with her. Not just for that though, we have a lot in common in other areas too, but I was really worried about how I would survive for five months without my sewing machine. The apartments are on Disney property, but are not really close to any of the parks. It's on the outskirts, at Vista Way you can walk across the street to a Walgreens. I will hopefully be staying in Chatham Square. It is newer and quieter than Vista, and Vista has a reputation for being party central. Chatham is also just down the street from the Cast Member retreat called Mickeys Retreat. It's exclusively for Cast Members and their families. It has barbaques and a beach on Little Lake Bryan.

I should probably catch you up on some Disney Lingo. We are not employees we are Cast Members because we are putting on a show everyday. Uniforms are not uniforms they are costumes.

I will write more later about my role at Walt Disney World

My six quirks-
1. I like to eat ice. Actually I love it. Most people will take a glass of water with them to bed but I take a cup of crushed ice and eat it while I am reading.
2. I hate wearing shoes. I like my feet to be able to feel the ground, and shoes are confining.
3. I like my rice plain. Rice is okay with sauce or meat on it but i really like just making it into a ball and eating it plain.
4. I rarely go more than two days without shaving my legs. Ever since I was little I have had a thing for feeling smooth skin especially when it is cold. I shave my legs often so that my skin is smooth.
5. I have an accent. I was born and raised in Portland but i somehow have an accent. People think I am from Alaska, the mid-west, the north-east, or a combination of all three.
6. I could watch Beauty and the Beast for a week straight and not get tired of it, and I did.

Photo Shoot

So on saturday Cami and I went to the mall to do a little shopping. She picked out a shirt for me that i thought was a joke. It is pumpkin orange and has brown pink and cream stripes. It even has a little pocket on the front. I tried it on and she really liked it so I told her I would buy it on one condition. She had to let me buy her the same shirt as an early birthday present. She agreed to my conditions and now we both have shirts that remind me of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Today we actually got some use out of these crazy shirts. We went down to the entrance to BYU and had a little photo shoot.
It was a lot of fun. We took so many pictures of us throwing leaves up into the air. We even had some people on the street ask if they could be in the pictures but they didn't have matching shirts so we had to say no.

This week in Utah has been so nice. I have had a lot of time to relax and think, and I have also had a lot of time to go crazy. I have been able to catch up with an old friend whom I have not seen for more than an hour in the past 2 years. I have also met so many new amazing people. It is so great being in a place where everyone shares the same values, but they certainly do not all share opinions or political stances. We have definitely had some interesting disscussions this week while everyone has been voting.

I sent my ballot in last week and it felt so good knowing that my vote might make a difference in some category. Living in Oregon who I voted for for president doesn't really matter, but voting for who you believe in is still important.
So basically my time in Utah has been amazing and has really helped me decide where I want to go with my life, and who I want to be in my life.

My First Post!

I have been thinking about getting a blog for a while now, and I am finally doing it. I have enjoyed reading other peoples blogs, especially Kylene's, and thought this would be a nice way to update everyone on the happenings of my life. This is really going to be nice while i am living in Florida because as much as I would like to talk to everyone individually it is going to be impossible with a 40 hour work week, and the temptation of free admission to the parks.
In this first post I thought I would explain my URL. My e-mail is the same except with only one l because I created it when i was thirteen and didn't know how to spell. Rebellious comes from Alyssa Cook. She used to say little things we would do were being "rebellious" , even when they weren't. The lemon comes from the magazine my friends and I were trying to put together the summer after eighth grade. It was called the lemon zine. It never really got started but it was a fun activity while it lasted.
Right now I am in Provo, Utah visiting some friends at BYU. Halloween here was really crazy, but it was so much fun. I will probably post some more about my crazy week here on monday while Cami is in class.
